Kelly Coker Obituary

Mr. Kelly Coker, 80, of the Barrineau Community, Lake City, husband of the late Elloree Welch Coker, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Kelly was born on September 3, 1943, in Williamsburg County, son of the late Harmon Kelly Coker Sr. and Odell Floyd Coker. He was a retired mechanic and member of Floyd Chapel PH Church. Mr. Kelly loved fishing and dearly loved working in his shop, which was a community gathering spot for neighborhood children and family members.

Surviving are his daughter, Mitzie (Raymond) Tisdale of Lake City; granddaughter, Maci (Justin) Gause of Kingstree; grandson, Kell Tisdale of Lake City; great grandchild, Ava Gause of Kingstree; sister, Dessie Frye of Sumter, Rheba (Elbert) Welch of Lake City, Brenda Carraway of Florence and Elsie McKenzie of Lake City; sisters-in-law, Donna Coker of Lake City and Beatrice (James) McGee of Turbeville; a number of nieces and nephews, many of whom were like his other grandchildren.

Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by an infant son, Kelton Coker; brother, Hoyt Coker; sisters, Annette McKenzie and Judy Rogers; brothers-in-law, John Carraway, Randolph McKenzie, Dan Frye, Ervin Rogers and Doug McKenzie; nephew, Frankie Frye.

The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Melissa Hucks and Amedisys Hospice staff for their love and care for Mr. Kelly.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, with private burial.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be made to Floyd Chapel PH Church, 1701 New Zion Road, Lake City, SC 29560 and Cornerstone Ministries, Building Fund, 1900 New Zion Road, Lake City, SC 29560.
