Obituary
Mr. Kenneth “Skin” Joel Matthews, Jr., 61, husband of the late Laina Joyce Powell Matthews, died Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at McLeod Hospice House, Florence, SC.
Kenny was born on July 6, 1961 in Florence County, son of Gracie Powers Matthews and the late Kenneth Joel Matthews, Sr. He was a pipe fitter/welder by trade.
Surviving are his daughter, Brooke Matthews Price; grandsons, Kingston Price and Tate Price; mother, Gracie Powers Matthews; sisters, Nellie Vone Lupo and Debbie Wall; nieces & nephews; Jessie Wall, Kacey (Scotty) Lambert, Ashley (Jodi) Creel, Joshua (Danielle) Evans; great nieces & nephew, Annsley Fogner, Abby Lambert, Matthew Lambert, Hannah Gray and Johnathan (Ivonne) Mumford.
Kenny was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Wayne Matthews; brother-in-law, Reverend Michael Wall and nephew, Kevin Creel.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Friday, March 10, 2023 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, SC, with burial to follow at Mill Branch Cemetery, Johnsonville, SC.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Friday, March 10, 2023 at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton, SC.
