L.C. Floyd Obituary

L.C. Floyd, 79, of Lake City, SC, son of the late Rev. C.B. and Leola Floyd, died peacefully at home May 16, 2020, after a brief illness.

Mr. Floyd retired from SC Prestress. He was a faithful member of New Piney Grove FWB Pentecostal Faith Church. He loved God and his family. He enjoyed working with his son on the farm and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by a son, Benji (Crystal) Floyd of New Zion, SC; three daughters, Janice (Kevin) Hayes of Scranton, SC, Sherry Grimsley of Scranton, SC and Maria (Tony) Floyd of Cades, SC; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Belva Culick of Lake City, SC, Teenie (Johnny) Jenkinson of Summerton, SC, Bobbie Jean (Barry) Mosley of Lake City, FL and Thelma Baxley of Sumter, SC.

Mr. Floyd was predeceased by his wife, Betty Faye Floyd; two brothers, Woodrow Floyd and Barto Floyd; three sisters, Magdalene Floyd, Nita McKenzie and Lillie Mae Holland and son-in-law, Kevin Grimsley.

Special thanks to Lynne Grier of Homestead Hospice and Dr. Albert Mims and staff for their care during his illness.

Graveside service will be Monday, 11:00 AM, May 18, 2020, at New Piney Grove Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to New Piney Grove Cemetery Fund, 2406 Fire Tower Road, New Zion, SC 29111.
