Mr. Lawrence “Buck” Lamb, 78, of Scranton, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at MUSC Health Black River Medical Center.
Lawrence Javin Lamb, known as “Buck” was born on October 12, 1947, in Durham, NC, to the late Roland Benjamin Lamb and Mary Filyaw Lamb. Mr. Lamb proudly and honorably served his country as an Airborne soldier in the United States Army, serving with the elite 82nd Airborne Division. He was a Vietnam Veteran and continued his dedication to service through the Army National Guard. His military service was a great source of pride throughout his life.
Outside of his service, Mr. Lamb was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, working in his shop making birdhouses, and tending to his yard and garden. He dearly loved his dog, Cooper, and was a devoted family man. He retired after many years as a sewing machine mechanic.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Myra Osborne Lamb of Scranton; children, Amy (Joey) Ennis, Vicki (Brian) June and William Lamb; grandchildren, Cody (Darcey) McClam, Shahna (Will) Gray, Justin June, Krystal (Dakota) Ellis and Stephanie Ennis; great grandchildren, Gage DuBose, Grace Gray, Colton McClam and Corey Ellis; sister, Margie Williams.
Mr. Lamb was preceded in death by two children, Lorena Lamb and Kenny Lamb; siblings, Harry Lee Lamb, Gertrude Lamb Michael, Bernice Lamb Lipford, Tillman “Dinker” Lamb, and Larry Benjamin Lamb.
Graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Lower Lee Cemetery, Pole Cat Road, Scranton.
