Mr. Legette Roberson, 85, of Olanta, husband of the late Zelphia Ann Cooper Roberson, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at his home.
Mr. Roberson was born on June 6, 1940, in Scranton, son of the late Mack G. Roberson and Gertrude Dennis Roberson. Mr. Roberson attended Frierson's Tabernacle, was the caretaker of his family, known for his honesty, strong work ethic, and devotion to those he loved. A farmer for many years, he enjoyed tending his garden and caring for animals. He was a homebody at heart, happiest when surrounded by family. Mr. Roberson had a wonderful sense of humor and was always full of stories to tell. Above all, he dearly loved his grandchildren and took great pride in each of them.
Surviving are his sons, Jimmy Roberson and Timmy Roberson; grandchildren, Mindy Kirby, Staci M. Roberson, and Timothy Ryan (Holli) Roberson; great grandchildren, Savanna Kirby, Troy Kirby, Arleigh Floyd and Austin Roberson; brother, Mack Ervin Roberson; sister, Annette Griffin.
Mr. Roberson was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Zelphia Ann Roberson and grandson, Joshua “Josh” Brandin Roberson; siblings, Allen M. Roberson, Charlie Myers Roberson, Donald Harris Roberson and Dorothy “Dot” Roberson Thornhill.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Lake City Memorial Park.
