Obituary

Lillie Belle Driggers Filyaw, 84, wife of J. C. "Coolidge" Filyaw, died Monday, June 08, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. Filyaw was born on April 18, 1936 in Williamsburg County, daughter of the late George Zingle Driggers and Belle Hanniford Driggers.  She attended Indian Town Schools and was an avid Gardner.  Miss Lillie was one of the oldest members of Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church and was active in the Women's Ministry. She was a wonderful cook, famous for her biscuits and chicken and dumplins and many guest have enjoyed great meals at her table. She was a mother to the community, cared for all who knew her and always had compassion for those less fortunate.  Miss Lillie was driven to achieve the tasks presented by each new day.  She loved her family, immediate and adopted, her church family and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her husband of 69 years, Coolidge Filyaw of Cades; children, Charles (Debbie) Filyaw of Cades, Carlisle (Susan) Filyaw of Barnwell, Sheldon (Anne) Filyaw and Douglas (Marie) Filyaw, both of Cades and Lynn (Todd) Floyd of Kingstree; grandchildren, Jami (Tripp) Carter, Kaycee (Brent) Bennett, Amanda (Brandon) Floyd, Kyle (Ashley) Floyd, Erin (Josh) Pierce, Adrianna (Collin) Lee and Katie Filyaw and her fiancé Byron Coker; great grandchildren, Kayden Carter, Grooms Bennett, Lily Jane Bennett, Lillie Cooper Bennett, Charlie Floyd and Marley James Bennett.

Mrs. Filyaw was preceded in death by her half-brothers, Randall Driggers and Doug Hanniford; and her half-sisters, Gertrude Parker and Myrtle Hanniford.    

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 10, 2020 prior to the services at the church.
