Mrs. Lillie Mae Kennedy Flowers, 88, of Pamplico, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Pee Dee Gardens, Florence.
Mrs. Flowers was born on March 11, 1937, in Florence County, daughter of the late James W. Kennedy and Ruby E. Turner Kennedy. She was a member of Mount Elon Free Will Baptist Church for over 70 years, faithfully serving and supporting her church family throughout her life. Though she preferred to serve behind the scenes, she quietly and humbly contributed in countless ways, always putting others before herself. She deeply loved her family, with a special affection for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. A true lover of flowers, red roses held a special place in her heart. She enjoyed shopping—especially at Belk—and was known for her classy, well-put-together style that reflected both grace and pride in her appearance. She was well-liked and dearly loved by many, and her kind, giving spirit touched countless lives. She never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Surviving are her children, Sandra Flowers (John “Buddy") Bazen of Pamplico and Joel Steven (Sonja) Flowers of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Jason S. (Leigh) Bazen and Brittany (Josh) Little, both of Pamplico; great grandchildren, Emma Little, Nate Little, Clay Bazen and Austyn Bazen, all of Pamplico; sister, Mary Lea Huggins of Hemingway; and a sister-in-law, Lorretta Kennedy of Charleston.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Joel Clayton Flowers; brothers, Rupert Kennedy and John Nathan Kennedy; and her in-laws, Jack & Evelyn Flowers.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Mount Elon Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Mount Elon Free Will Baptist Church, 263 West Seven Mile Road, Pamplico, SC 29583. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
