Linda (Floyd) Miles

Ms. Linda Floyd Miles, 75, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at her home in Lake City.

Ms. Linda was born on December 31, 1947, in Florence County, daughter of the late Ebert Erwin Floyd, Sr. and Julia Pye Floyd.  She was a member of Lake City First Baptist Church.  Ms. Linda was a graduate of Lake City High School, attended Clemson University and rooted on her beloved Tigers, received her bachelor’s degree from North Carolina Wesleyan University and her master’s degree from Francis Marion University. She retired from Florence County School District 3 after teaching for many years, and as professor at Florence Darlington Technical College.

Surviving are her son, Brant (Melissa) Miles of Ham Lake, MN;  grandchildren, Julia Miles and Isabella Miles, both of Ham Lake, MN; daughter, Elizabeth Robinson; grandchildren, Tucker Robinson, Taylor Robinson and Dean Robinson, all of Florence;  brothers, Butch Floyd and Randy (Cheryl) Floyd, both of Lake City; nephew, Kip Floyd of Lake City; niece, Dr. Meredith Floyd (Dr. Trip) Jones of Mt. Pleasant; and treasured friend, Wanda Flowers of Lake City.                                  

Ms. Linda was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Elaine Douglas Floyd.

The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to her Oncologist, Dr. Ziad Skaff, for his loving care over the years for our mom and dear friend, Ginger Joye, whose time she enjoyed so much as Ginger attempted to work miracles throughout the years.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Lake City Memorial Park, directed by Carolina Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the cemetery.
