Mr. Linwood Mack Floyd, 79, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025, at his home in Coward, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Floyd was born on November 11, 1945, in Florence County, son of the late LeRoy “Roy” Floyd and Catherine Parker Floyd. Mr. Floyd was a graduate of Hebron High School and attended Central Holiness Church. A self-employed manufacturing contractor for 45 years, he was known for his dedication, versatility, and strong work ethic in every role he undertook. Mr. Floyd especially loved spending time with his family—camping, fishing, and taking trips to the mountains. A natural prankster with a playful spirit, he often showed his affection by good-natured teasing, particularly toward those he liked most. He was deeply devoted to his family, making many sacrifices over the years, and he cherished his beloved wife above all. A talented musician, he enjoyed singing and playing the banjo, performing for many years with The Singing Samaritans.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Ruby Yarborough Floyd of Coward; their children, John (Patricia) Floyd of Effingham, Luanne (Jonathan) White of Coward and Tommy (Teresa) Floyd of Henry, Tennessee; grandchildren, Olivia Floyd, Madison Floyd, Emma White, T.J. Floyd, Kayla Floyd, Jaceigh Floyd and Gracie Floyd; brother, James (Juanita) Floyd of Lake City; sister, Emmaline Garris of Scranton; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by his siblings, Henry Floyd, J.W. Floyd, Clarence Floyd, Richard Floyd and Geraldine Barr.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, June 23, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow the service. Burial will be private.
