Mrs. Lois Rachel McClam Strater, 63, of Pamplico, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at her residence.
Mrs. Strater was born on December 26, 1961, in Florence County, daughter of Esley Thomas McClam and Dora Rachel Matthews McClam. Mrs. Strater was a devoted homemaker who cherished her role as a loving mother. Family was the center of her life, and she will be remembered for her warm spirit and the deep love she shared with those around her. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed traveling to many places, including Las Vegas, Cherokee, North Carolina, and numerous cruises. She also loved fishing, singing karaoke, and participating in the APA- Pool League. Known for her lively and spirited personality, she brought joy and laughter to those who knew her. An avid animal lover, she cared for all types of animals with compassion.
Surviving are her son, Julian A. (Vickie) Buie, Jr. of Pamplico; step-daughter, Nikki Henderson of Georgia; step-son, Phillip (Megan) Prescott of Georgia; grandchildren, James (Kayla) Wilson, Thomas Wilson, Gavin Hayes, Britney (Michael) Wegrzyn, Rebecca Parker, Jacob Parker, and Wyatt Wilson; great grandchild, Melanie Rose Parker; brother, O’Neil (Kim) McClam of Summerton; sister, Mildred Reese of Myrtle Beach.
Mrs. Strater was preceded in death by her husband, James Michael Strater; daughter, Kimberly Diane Buie; brother, Tommy McClam and sister, Gwen Sawyer.
Celebration of Life will be at 5:00 PM, Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow.
