Mrs. Lola Osborne Roark, 89, of Scranton, wife of the late Reverend Charles A. Roark, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at McLeod Hospice House.
Mrs. Roark was born on March 7, 1935, in Greeleyville, daughter of the late Henry P. Osborne and Lorena Wise Osborne. She was a gentle, loving, and kind woman that cherished her family. Mrs. Roark was a woman of faith and served as a Pastor’s wife for nearly 60 years at several churches including Greeleyville, Camden, Calvary in Nichols, El Bethel in Lugoff and Frierson’s Tabernacle in Lake City. She was a good listener and enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. Mrs. Roark had a beautiful voice and you could always hear her singing in church and around the house.
Surviving are her daughter, Debbie R. (Tommy) Wilkes of Scranton; son, Bruce (Dale) Roark of Sumter; daughter, Barbara R. (Gene) Jordan of Elgin; grandchildren, Jeff (Kim) Wilkes and Jill (Jarrod Tippins) Wilkes, both of Scranton and Chris (Amanda) Roark of Sumter; great grandsons, Thomas Wilkes of Scranton and Easton Roark of Sumter; step-grandsons, Troy (Dea) Jordan and Donnie Jordan, both of Lugoff; three step-great grandchildren; three step-great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Roark was preceded in death by her three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Olive Grove Cemetery, Turbeville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Carolina Funeral Home.
