Maria “Ricey” Wilkes McGee, 80, wife of the late Jack Durant McGee, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024, at her home in Scranton, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. McGee was born on July 14, 1944, in Florence County, daughter of the late Zollie Wilkes and Juanita Matthews Wilkes. She was a retired seamstress and enjoyed working in her yards. Mrs. McGee was dedicated to her family and friends, and was a loving “Gran Gran” to her grandchildren whom she enjoyed spoiling.
Surviving are her daughter, Betty McGee of Scranton; son, Barry “Jack” (Lynn) McGee of Scranton; granddaughter, Shelbi Lynn McGee (Will Tucker); grandson, Kyle McGee; sisters, Bonnie Ruth Lee and Gertrude Wilkes McGee; brother, Zollie Wilkes, Jr.; special niece, Stella Williamson; special sister-in-law, Mamie Locklair Wilkes; sisters-in-law, Anease Wilkes, Janie Ruth Wilkes, Dorothy Melton and Vivian Lane; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Mrs. McGee was preceded in death by siblings, Ida Mae Oliver, Bobbie Jean McGee, Dewey Wilkes, Jessie Wilkes, Troy Wilkes, Jack Wilkes and Tom Wilkes.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
