Mr. James Marcus “Mark” Creel, 54, husband of Gwen Creel, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at MUSC Medical Center, Charleston, surrounded by his loving family.
Mark was born on May 8, 1970, in Florence County, son of James Edward “J.E.” Creel and Pamela Evans Creel. He was a member of Lynches River Bassmasters. Mark loved fishing, playing the drums, playing pool and Alabama Crimson Tide.
Surviving are his wife, Gwen Langley Creel; children, Kallie (Steven Dionne) Creel, Bo Creel, Courtney (Konnor Snowden) Creel, Brooklyn Pirt, Brooke Creel, Tyson (Ciara) Marlowe, Whitnie (Joshua) Elliott and Diane (Wayne Timmons) Taylor; 18 grandchildren; parents, J. E. & Pam Creel; brother, Glenn Creel; nephews, Gauge (Haley) Creel and Cole (Alyson Owens) Creel.
Mark was preceded in death by brother, Stephen Creel; son, Timothy Taylor; paternal grandparents, James & Ola Creel; maternal grandparents, Llewellyn & Florrie Evans; sister-in-law, Stacy Collins Creel and father-in-law, Joe Langley.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Carolina Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, 215 East Hwy 378 Bypass, Scranton, SC 29591, with burial to follow at Little Star Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, 2750 Lake City Hwy, Lake City, SC 29560.
