Mary Powell Steindl, 87, of Johnsonville, wife of the late Dean Steindl, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025, at MUSC in Florence.
Mrs. Steindl was born on January 20, 1938, in Florence County, daughter of the late Reverend Dewey Powell and Pearl Hutchinson Powell Hayes. Mrs. Steindl was a faithful member of Highland Park United Methodist Church in Florence, until her health declined and retired from Wal-Mart of Florence after many years of dedicated service.
Surviving are her daughters, Lynn (Phillip) Marlow of Johnsonville and Patricia (Eric) Moore of Lake City; son, Kenny (Michelle) Coward of Coward; grandchildren, Wayne (Kim) Marlow, Clay Marlow, Ashley (Terry) McDaniel, Jody Ward, Joseph Coward, Kendall (JT) Follin, Jacob Coward, Tiffany (Tylor) Mixon and Justin Teal; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; daughter-in-law, Angela Coward; step-children, Denise Steindl of Concord, NC and Doug (Diane) Steindl of WI; special friend, Trina Edgerton; niece, Debbie Coward.
Mrs. Steindl was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Coward and eight (8) siblings.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 PM, Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 4:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Lake City Memorial Park.
The family will also receive friends at other times at the home of her daughter, Lynn Marlow, 716 St. James Road, Johnsonville.
