Mrs. Mary Alice Collins McCutcheon, 79, of Cades, wife of the late James H. McCutcheon, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at her home.
Mrs. McCutcheon was born on August 3, 1946, in Florence County, daughter of the late Leo Collins and Sarah McKnight Collins. Mrs. McCutcheon was a devoted homemaker with the biggest heart. Anyone who walked through her door was treated as if they belonged to her—because in her eyes, they did. She was a woman of true sacrifice, always putting her family and others before herself. She loved spending time fishing, tending to her garden, and sharing her ever-present smile with those around her. Affectionately known as “Nanny” to so many, her home was always filled with children, laughter, and love—a reflection of the life she so selflessly gave to others.
Surviving are her daughter, Lisa McCutcheon (Kenny) Matthews of Lake City; grandchildren, Amber McCutcheon of Cades, Jessica (Dray) McCutcheon of Kingstree, Jamie (Tiffany) McCutcheon of Turbeville and Josh Cales of Goose Creek; great grandchildren, Jacsun, Alison, Lawson, Zachary, Nina, Hayden, Harper, Kalvin, Jay, Johnny and Easton.
Mrs. McCutcheon was preceded in death by her children, Mitchell McCutcheon, Joey McCutcheon, Jimmy McCutcheon, Dwayne McCutcheon and Chris McCutcheon; 14 siblings.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Carolina Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 5:00 PM in chapel.
Burial will be private.
