Master Sergeant Robert E. Lee – U.S. Army Retired, 78, husband of Brenda McKenzie Lee, passed away peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
MSgt Lee was born on April 5, 1948, in Lake City, son of the late Andrew Jackson Lee and Mary Matthews Lee. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired after 37 years of faithful service to our country, having served many of those years with the Military Police. MSgt Lee was an avid gardener whose green thumb was evident in the thriving gardens he lovingly maintained. A loving husband, father, and granddaddy, he was dedicated to his family and exemplified his faith through the way he lived his life every day.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Agape Hospice for their love and care during this time.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Brenda McKenzie Lee; daughters, Paige (John) Hoover, Kim (Brian) Rapp; grandchildren, Johnrobert Hoover, Sally Paige Hoover, Jack Rapp, Levi Rapp, Rosalee Rapp; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Daniels, Varnette Mixon, Faye Lee, Adelle Lee; special nieces, nephews and other extended family; special friends, Bruce and Mary Bennett.
MSgt Lee was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Marvin Lee, Rondel Lee; sister, Mary Nell Floyd.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Carolina Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 AM in the chapel.
Burial, with full military honors, will be at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, Lake City.
