Mavis (Dennis) Hudson

Mrs. Mavis Dennis Hudson, 84, wife of the late Rev. Johnny O. Hudson, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.

Mrs. Hudson was born on October 17, 1939, in Williamsburg County, daughter of the late Arthur Reaise Dennis and Lorena Venters Dennis. She was a member of Little Bethel Free Will Bapitst Church of Johnsonville. Mrs. Hudson was an accomplished seamstress.

Surviving are her children, Byron (Becki) Hudson of Pamplico, Jimmy (Tori) Hudson of Effingham and Lynn Yarborough of Johnsonville; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Nancy (Bobby) Powell of Johnsonville, Kathryn (Harry) McGee of Goose Creek and Rena (Dewey) Brewer of Hemingway.

Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her brother, A. R. Dennis and sister, Shelby Newell.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
