Mellie Poston Filyaw

Mellie Poston Filyaw, 93, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, April 19, 2024.

Mrs. Filyaw was born the daughter of the late Bera Jones Poston and Jessie James Poston.  She was a member of Florence Baptist Temple and attended regularly until her health began to decline.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jack Filyaw, her son, Ricky B, Filyaw and her brother, James Poston, Jr.

Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Filyaw (Joe) Alban; wife of her late son, Kimberly K. Filyaw; Grandchildren, Jody (Kellie) Alban, Tyler (Courtney) Alban, Tiffani Taylor, Justin (Abby) Filyaw, Clay (Tiffany) Filyaw and Charley Rose Filyaw; Great-Grandchildren, Camryn Altman, Ethan Alban, Carson Alban, Evan Alban, Chase Alban, Cabrey Jack Filyaw, Rawlings Filyaw and Briggs Filyaw.

Memorial Services will be 3:00 pm Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Florence Baptist Temple Chapel.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
