Mettie “Peggy” Ruth Miles, 79, of Scranton, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at McLeod Hospice House.
Mrs. Miles was born on September 10, 1945, in Florence County, daughter of the late Luther James Miles and Minnie M. Miles. She found pleasure in raising chickens, being a jokester, planting flowers and just being her happiest when she was on her lawnmower. Mrs. Miles loved going to Charleston or on any trip with her best friend, Elaine.
Surviving are her brother, William “Bubba” (Kat) Miles of Coward; niece, Joyce (Sam) Singletary of Effingham; sister-in-law, Barbara Miles of Scranton; great nieces, Jamie (Daniel) Pasker and Ashley Yarborough, along with many more nieces and nephews; special friend, Elaine Bailey.
Mrs. Miles was preceded in death by her first husband, Carlton Miles; son, Stacey Miles; second husband, Elwyn Isgett; sisters, Virginia Tyler, Daphine Collins and Myrtie Bell Miles.
A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 AM, Friday, September 13, 2024, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow after the service. Burial will be private.
