Mike Evans

Mr. Winston Michael "Mike" Evans, 59, husband of Elaine Parrott Evans, died Thursday, October 1, 2020, at his home in Scranton after an extended illness.

Mr. Evans was born on October 5, 1960, in Columbia, SC, son of Betty Broach Evans and the late Winston Evans. He was a member of the High Hill Family Worship Center Church of God of Prophecy and served in the SC Army National Guard and the Air National Guard. He was Project Estimator with A to Z Coating and Insulation Incorporated. Mike enjoyed collecting antiques, playing music and reaching out to help others.  

Survivors include in addition to his mother, wife, Elaine P. Evans of Scranton; step-son, Robert Page; sister, Wendy Evans Boyington; brothers, Ricky J. (Angie) Evans, Christopher B.  Evans and Tony E. (Veronica) Evans; godchildren, Autumn Chessnee Evans, Dawson Eugene Evans, Maddux Elliott Evans; nieces and nephews, Thomas Boyington, Jr., Timmy (Patti) Boyington, Katrina Marie (Todd) Bish, Ricky Shane (Heather) Evans, Anthony Jacob Evans, Kayla Nichole Evans, Leah Noel (Jacob) Poston, Christopher Tyler Evans and Bradley Ace Evans; great nieces and nephews, Scarlett, Nathan, Carson, Parker, Paxton, Brayson, Alexis, Kailey, Braidon and Sophia.

Mr. Evans was preceded in death by niece, Shannon Yarborough; great niece and nephew, Kendal and David Yarborough.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM, Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM prior to the service and other times at the home of his sister, Wendy Boyington.
