It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Campbell Matthews, “Nana”. Nancy, 78, entered into her heavenly home on October 25, 2024, surrounded by her entire family, filled with a room of love. She was a cherished individual who had a strong love for Christ, animals, and people. She never met a stranger and to know her was to love her.
Mrs. Matthews was a devoted member of Beulah Baptist Church of Pamplico, where she sang in the choir. She retired from BlueCross Blue Shield after many years of dedicated service. Her love of God and her family was evident in everything she did. Her life was lived and led by her faith and love in God.
Mrs. Matthews was born on July 10, 1946, in Florence County, daughter of the late Junious Richard Campbell and Mary Lee Campbell. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Carl J. Matthews “Papa”, as well as her aunt Marie Watts and siblings, Billy, Betty, and Richard Campbell and Annete Gibson.
She is survived by her children, Caroline (Bruce) Greenwood, Johnny (Teresa) Tedder, and Monty (Denise) Tedder; step-daughter, Debbie (Don) Floyd; grandchildren, Jessica (Wendell) Isgett, Katie (Josiah) Johnson, Zachary Greenwood, Alyssa (Garret) Johnson, Madison Tedder, Stanford Tedder, Cade Tedder, and Leslie Tedder; step-granddaughter, Brittney Gause; great-grandsons, Cole and Jesse Isgett. She is also survived by special family friends, Hank (Kim) Glover; nieces and nephews, Saundra Willis, Lynn Powell, Brandy Tomczak, Robin Richardson, and many great nieces and nephews.
Homegoing services will be 3:00 PM, Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Beulah Baptist Church, 784 N. Pamplico Hwy, Pamplico, SC, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the church prior to the services.
