Nell Horne Byrd

Mrs. Nell Horne Byrd, 90, wife of the late Elijah Byrd, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024, at The Palms at Florence.

Mrs. Byrd was born on June 24, 1934, in Williamsburg County, daughter of the late Clarence Horne and Lucille Floyd Horne. She attended Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church until her health declined. Mrs. Byrd was a homemaker, loved working in her garden, loved her church and loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are her children, Altheria Jean (Dennis) Price and Terry (Rhonda) Byrd; grandchildren, Lucas (Christy) Price, Lance Byrd, Jason (Angel) Byrd, Jennifer Byrd, BoPeep Byrd, Albert Byrd, Bradley Byrd, Bryan Byrd, Ryan Byrd, Shanna (Eric) Outlaw, Nina Byrd, Michelle Byrd, Katherine Byrd and Mona Price; 19 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Carol Horne and Debbie Horne; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her sons, Micheal Dean “Mickey” Byrd, Alva Lynn Byrd and Jerry Byrd; grandchildren, Jody Price and Kelvin Price; great grandchild, Jacoby Byrd; great-great grandchild, Timothy Stewart; siblings, Mary Osborne, Alton Horne, Rabon Horne, Neil Horne and CL Horne; daughters-in-law, Lucy Byrd, Adline Byrd, Barbara Byrd and Debra Byrd.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church, 165 N. Bethel Road, Scranton, SC 29591, with burial to follow at Hicks Cemetery, 649 Friendfield Road, Coward 29530.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church and at other times at the home of Jean & Dennis Price, 515 Gause Canal Road, Coward, SC 29530.
