Patricia (Dickerson) Cox

Patricia Dickerson Cox, 76, wife of John S. “Sammy” Cox, died Thursday, May 12, 2022 at McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee, Florence.

Mrs. Cox was born on January 12, 1946, in Williamsburg County, daughter of the late Gilmore Dickerson and Hazel Cook Dickerson. She was a graduate of Lake City High School and was a homemaker.  Patricia was a member of the Lake City United Methodist Church, the Rutledge Book Club, the Wednesday Afternoon Book Club and the Junior Sorosis Club.

Surviving in addition to her husband, John S. “Sammy” Cox of Lake City, are her children; John S. Cox, II of Lake City; Spencer (Laura Kaye) Cox of Lake City and Lisa Cox (Pete) Altman of Effingham; grandchildren, Gavin Altman, Olivia Altman and Trey Cox.     

Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her siblings, Louis Dickerson, Ronnie Dickerson and Mattie Moyer.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
