Patricia Ann Ford

Miss Patricia Ann Ford, 63, left this earth on Thursday, July 30, 2020.

Miss Ford was born the daughter of the late Jessie James and Goldermae Ford on October 19, 1956, in Dillon, SC, where she resided.

When Patricia moved from home in 1979, she resided in Pecan Lane at Pee Dee Center.  She then moved into the Community Residential Services of the Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs Board in 1987.  There she lived at:  Florence Community Residence, The Cedars, Carolina Place and Graham Street. While in the Board’s care she also lived in the loving private homes of the late Ms. Marceil Williams and Ms. Mae Frances Brown, CTH I Caregivers.  In 2020, she moved to The Oaks, in Timmonsville, SC, where she remained until her death.  She participated in work and vocational opportunities at the Matthew B. Wallace and IW Canupp Training Center.

Patricia enjoyed many things.  She expressed her love with a look, a smile and most of all her soft voice.  She took joy in simple things and in her caregivers.  Patricia enjoyed talking about her childhood, making sweet potato pies and eating moon pies.  She enjoyed fellowship with her roommates and staff.  She loved going to church and dressing up to look good.  She knew the Lord and could sing many gospel songs.  She was no stranger to anyone.  Her conversations were big and could set everyone straight in her own way.  She had fond memories of attending camp.  Most of all, she just loved everyone, and her happiness was contagious.

Mourning her loss is her cousin, Patricia (David) Alford of Dillon, SC, and an abundance of residents and staff of the Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs Board.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Lake City Cemetery.
