Mrs. Patricia A. Gaskins, 84, the beloved wife of the late Robert M. Gaskins, was devotedly married to him for 40 years, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Gaskins was born on September 22, 1940, in Hemingway, daughter of the late Walter “Shorty” Avant and Lelia Mae Cribb Avant. She was a 1959 graduate of Lake City High School and later retired from Baxter’s as a dedicated supervisor, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and leadership. In her free time, she found joy in tending to her yard, caring for her cats, and indulging in her favorite snack—Goldfish crackers. She enjoyed fishing and you would always find her watching the Game Show Network. But above all, she cherished the moments spent with her family, creating memories filled with love and laughter.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia “Lynn” (Brian) Wainscott of Scranton; grandson, Robbie Wainscott of Scranton; step grandchildren, Brian Wainscott, Jr., and Hunter Wainscott; great grandchild, Macie Wainscott; great step grandchildren, Colton Hudson and Willow Wainscott; sisters, Dorothy Powell and Wanda Windham; special nephew, Boggie Powell; special niece, Teri (Ricky) Osborne; special family, Erica Wilkes and Tabitha Conyers.
Mrs. Gaskins was preceded in death by brother, Roger Avant; nephew, Brooks Lee.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the home of Teri Osborne and Ricky Garris, 2515 Diamond Lane, Scranton, 29591.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, February 28, 2025, at E.V. Gaskins Cemetery, Lake City.
