Mrs. Patricia S. Horton, 82, wife of Ronnie Horton, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Horton was born on March 25, 1943, in Florence County, daughter of the late James “JD” Smith, Sr. and Lorene Matthews Smith. She was a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church of Florence. She worked as a Branch Manager with American General, retiring after 46 years of dedicated service. A loving and kind person, Mrs. Horton cherished her family dearly. She enjoyed settling down with a book and a good cup of coffee.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Ronnie Horton; daughters, Pam (Roger) Kirby, Teresa (Michael) Crosby and Tina (Kevin) Horton-Lynch; granddaughters, Amy (David) Gowdy, Kate (Andrew) Kirby-Hall, Lizzie (Noah) Matthews and Candace Crosby; grandsons, Landon Crosby and Blaine (Valerie) Horton; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Angela Hyman; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Mrs. Horton was preceded in death by her brother, James Dupree Smith, Jr. and sister, Peggy McElveen.
The family would like to extend a very special “Thank You” to Amedisys Hospice and her care takers, Linda and Rita, for the love and care given to Mrs. Horton..
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, Monday, November 10, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be private.
