Obituary

Phyllis Kay Boyington Locklair, 68, wife of the late Larry Eugene Locklair, passed away Friday, June 27, 2025, at MUSC Florence Medical Center.

Mrs. Locklair was born on June 17, 1957, in Florence, daughter of the late Arnold Levern Boyington and Margaret Olivia Baxley Boyington.  She attended Frierson’s Tabernacle Free Will Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. Mrs. Locklair had a big heart and a smile that never faded. She was kind-hearted and always a friend to everyone she met. Mrs. Locklair enjoyed going to the mountains, working with her flowers and shopping at Walmart.

Surviving are her siblings, Jimmy (Linda) Boyington and Jackie Tyler, both of Lake City, Ronnie Boyington, Sharon Dennis, Kathy B. (Michael) Owens and Frank “Pete” (Cindy) Boyington, all of Scranton; granddaughter, Brandy Richburg of Scranton; special friends, Dale and Linda Rauch.

Mrs. Locklair was preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas “Tommy" Boyington, Patricia Boyington Welch, Kenny Boyington, Robin Denise Mixon and Russel Allen Boyington.

The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Melissa Butler for all of her love, care and support to Mrs. Locklair during her illness.

Funeral services will be 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home.
