Polly T Matthews

Mrs. Pauline “Polly T” Elsie Matthews, 89, wife of the late Lee McIver Matthews, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at The Palms of Florence.

Mrs. Matthews was born on November 12, 1934, in Florence County, daughter of the late Jessie Calvin Teal and Gladys Leola Hanna Teal. She was a master seamstress, gardener and homemaker.  Mrs. Matthews loved her flowers, children and caring for others like she wanted to be cared for.

Surviving are her children, Janet E. Matthews of Florence and Jim Ervin (Susan) Matthews of Scranton; grandchildren, Robin M. (Jamie) Parker and Ian (Morgan) Matthews, both of Scranton; great grandchildren, Fisher Parker, Fields Parker, Finnley Parker and Amelia Grace Matthews, all of Scranton; brother, Jack (Ruby) Teal of Lake City; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by her siblings, Devonne Gaskins and Jerry Teal.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Scranton United Methodist Church Cemetery.
