Obituary
Mrs. Rachel Powers Grimsley, 68, of Coward, wife of Walter V. “Binky” Grimsley, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023, at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.
Mrs. Grimsley was born on June 17, 1954, in Florence County, daughter of Virginia Miles Powers and the late Laverne Powers. She was a graduate of J. C. Lynch High School and member of Coward Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are her sons, Timothy Vance Grimsley and Chris Grimsley; grandsons, Austin Grimsley, Bailey Grimsley, Michael Grimsley, Matthew Grimsley; “adopted” granddaughters, Jadan Lee and London Lee; great-grandchild, Emma Grimsley; sister, Joyce P. (Samuel R.) Singletary; special nieces, Jamie (Daniel) Pasker and Ashley Yarborough.
Rachel was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Laverne Powers and David Laverne Powers; nephews, James Ricky Yarborough and Richard Avant.
Graveside services will be 5:00 PM, Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Hicks Cemetery, Coward.
