Rebecca (Watson) Smiley

Mrs. Rebecca Watson Smiley, 62, of Florence, wife of Randy Smiley, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.

Mrs. Smiley was born on August 5, 1961, in Florence County, daughter of the late Herman Marion Watson and Hazel Myers Watson. She was a graduate of Winthrop University and Francis Marion University. Mrs. Smiley retired as an early childhood educator, having worked in the Lake City and Florence schools, and formerly volunteered with Lighthouse Ministries and The American Red Cross.

Surviving in addition to her husband, of 31 years, Randy Smiley of Florence, are her daughter, Rachel Smiley of Florence; brother, Marion (June) Watson of Summerville; sister-in-law, Harriette Ann (Jack) Floyd of Olanta; many nieces, nephews and cousins; faithful canine companions, Suzy and Riley.

Mrs. Smiley was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Watson Herring.

A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation immediately following the service.

Burial will be held at Graham Cemetery, Cades.
