Retha (Lana) Black Pinion, 57, wife of Charles Pinion, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024, at her home in Lake City.
Mrs. Pinion was born on March 31, 1967, in Kingstree, daughter of the late Eugene Vernon Black, Jr. and Retha Gail Neely Black Carey. She was a cheerful, loving and happy person to be around. She loved animals and enjoyed her friendship with others in her life. She was the firstborn of her and her twin sister, and was known as Gamma to her grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing on Black River and the pond.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Pinion; children, Daniel (Ann) Pinion of Alabama, Neely (Johnny) Osborne, David Evans, Brian Evans and William Evans, all of Lake City; 9 grandchildren; brother, William W. “Bill” (Debbie) Black of Longs; sister, Laura Gail Morris of Lake City; 2 nieces and 4 nephews.
Mrs. Pinion was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Vernon Black III.
A Celebration of Life service will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow the service.
