Reverend John David Cantey

Reverend John David Cantey, 78, husband of Johnnie Lee Cantey, died Thursday, July 23, 2020, at his residence.

Reverend Cantey was born August 31, 1941 in Florence County, SC, son of the late Vernon Leroy Cantey and Margaret Bragdon Cantey. He was a graduate of Lake City High School and attended Holmes Bible College. Reverend Cantey was the former pastor of Olanta PH Church and attended Camp Branch PH church. He was the former business owner of the Lake City Power Equipment.

Surviving are his wife, Johnnie Lee Cantey of Scranton; sons, Scott (Charae) Cantey of Lake City and Michael (Shannon) Cantey of Scranton; sister, Judy West of Conway; granddaughters, Monica (Gavin) Ganes of Lake City, Ashley (Brett) Floyd of Olanta, Anna Cantey of Scranton; grandson, Michael (Hannah) Cantey of Lake City; great grandchildren, Gavin Filyaw, Emma Filyaw and Waylon Floyd.

Reverend Cantey was preceded in death by his brother, Eric Cantey.

Funeral Service will be 5:00 PM, Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Pamplico.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
