Reverend Mendel Stalvey, Sr.

Reverend Erwin Mendel Stalvey, Sr., 81, husband of the late Barbara Mishoe Stalvey, died Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence.

Reverend Stalvey was born on April 3, 1939 in Horry County, son of the late Preston Alonzo "Lonnie" Stalvey and Carrie Inez "Nez" Causey Stalvey.  He was a retired minister of 50 years, having served from 1964 – 2014 and was a member of Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are his son, Kevin Neal Stalvey; granddaughter, Erin Madison Stalvey; great-grandchildren, Adrianna Madison Floyd and E. J. Floyd; siblings, Nell Singleton, Barbara (John) Benton and William "Bill" (Judy) Stalvey.

Reverend Stalvey was preceded in death by a son, Erwin M. Stalvey, Jr.

Funeral services will be 5:00 PM, Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be private in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 5:00 PM, Thursday, July 2, 2020, at the church, prior to the service.
