Richard D. Avant

Richard Daren Avant, 56, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at his residence.

Richard was born on December 1, 1965, in Florence County, son of the late Roger Dale Avant and Janice Lorene Grimsley Avant. Richard was a member the APA Pool League and was a Mason.

Surviving are his sons, Ryan (Stephanie) Avant of Scranton and Rocky Avant of Florence; sister, Sharon (Francisco) Villanueva of Coward; granddaughters, Kaylie Avant and Khloe Avant; niece, Jessica Avant; nephew, Gaston Villanueva; uncles, Walter “Binky” (Rachel) Grimsley and Terry (Teresa) Grimsley; cousin, Timmy Grimsley; cousin/brother, Chris Grimsley; special friend and caregiver, Brenda Matthews and other extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Carolina Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mossy Grove Cemetery, Coward.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at Carolina Funeral Home and also at the home of Ryan and Stephanie Avant, 950 Cockfield Road, Scranton.
