Mr. Ricky L. Huggins, 47, of Lake City, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.
Mr. Huggins was born on August 24, 1978, in Manning, son of the late Donald Lavell “Peanut” Huggins and Rachel Melinda Barfield Huggins. Mr. Huggins was a dedicated roofer whose strong work ethic and craftsmanship were evident throughout his career. He was a devoted father and a cherished “Pop Pop” to his grandchildren, with whom he shared a deep and abiding love. Endowed with remarkable artistic talent, he was also a gifted storyteller, known for his creativity and the vivid narratives he enjoyed sharing. A true jack-of-all-trades, Mr. Huggins possessed an exceptional ability to master many skills and was always willing to assist others with his knowledge and hands-on expertise. His steady presence, generosity, and quiet wisdom will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Surviving are his daughter, Nicole Cheyenne (Jarrott) Strickland; son, Donald Huggins; grandchildren, Talaya Huggins, Javaeh Jenkins, Mattie Strickland and Amelia Strickland; brothers, Jason (Tina) Huggins and Ronald Huggins; aunt, Nancy Parrott; special nephew, Patrick Huggins; nieces, Elizabeth Huggins and Maura Huggins; along with cousins and other extended family members.
Mr. Huggins was preceded in death by his grandmother, Evon Barfield.
