Rita (Poston) Coleman

Rita Poston Ard Coleman, 72, passed away on November 7, 2021, at her residence.

Rita was born on July 23, 1949, in Florence County, daughter of the late Pearly “Buddy” and Jamie Daniels Poston. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and also attended Beulah Free Will Church. She was a retired Elementary teacher who taught for 30 years and touched the lives of hundreds of children in a positive way. She loved her family and friends and her cats. She and Bob enjoyed many trips “Antiquing”.

She was a graduate of Hannah-Pamplico High School, class of 1967, Winthrop and Francis Marion.

She is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Coleman, Jr; sons, Jason Ard and Clint Ard; grandson, Wyatt Ard; sisters, Linda (Vance) Ard, Karen (Willie) Jones, and several nieces and nephews; special teacher friends, Cheryl Grier and Mollie Floyd.

Rita was predeceased by her daughter, Adriane Ard.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Union Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Union Baptist Church, Pamplico.
