Robert "Bubba" Heyward Gray

May 26, 1953 ~ October 16, 2020 (age 67)

Robert Heyward "Bubba" Gray, 67, husband of Teresa Thigpen Gray, passed away, Friday, October 16, 2020, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Robert Heyward Gray, known as "Bubba" was born on May 26, 1953 in Florence County to the late Preston Gray and Frances McClam Gray. Bubba was a master builder and a jack of all trades. He had a larger than life personality, always ready with a joke and that unforgettable smile. Bubba was one in a million, one that can never be replaced. He had a heart of gold unlike anyone you will ever know or meet. Bubba took pride in everything he built and worked on because building was his life. He leaves behind a legacy that will live on in each and every one of us. Bubba took care of everyone he loved. He loved animals and they had a special place in his heart, especially his faithful loving companion and partner in crime, "Harley" his beloved blue heeler.

A father is respected because he gives his children leadership, appreciated because he gives his children care, valued because he gives his children time, loved because he gives his children the one thing they treasure most, himself.

Surviving are his wife, Teresa Thigpen Gray; son, Preston Gray and stepdaughter, Regan (Caleb) Matthews. He is also survived by his former wife Jodie Gray and children, Robbie (JoEllen) Gray, Jr. and Michelle (Victor) Gray, Jamie Gray and Marty Gray; grandchildren, Robert H. "Tussel" (Chelsea) Gray, III, Chyna Gray, Jackson Gray, Cheyenne Gray, Kiera Gray, James Gray and Mackayla Gray; great grandchildren, Robert H. "Roman" Gray, IV, Ansleigh Gause, Carter Gray and Bentley Gray; and brother, Dale (Pat) Miles. Bubba will also be missed dearly by his special nephew, Pressley Gray. Bubba is also survived by special lifelong friends, Mike (Donna) Jones, Mike (Sonja) Plyler, Thad (Mary) Galloway, Mark (Sinkie) Driggers, Danny (Deborah) Hanniford, Larry (Sharon) Olson, Pat (Donna) Rush, Jean McKenzie and Mike (Kathie) Suttles. Also, a special aunt and uncle, Dorothy and J.C. Broach; and a number of nieces and nephews.
