Robert "Robbie" Watson Gowdy

Mr. Robert “Robbie” Watson Gowdy, 47, husband of Ella Williams Gowdy, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee.

Robbie was born January 23, 1979, in Florence County, a son of Sylvia Keefe Gowdy and the late David Llewellyn Gowdy. He was a graduate of Lake City High School, where he enjoyed playing, football and basketball. Later he graduated from  Florence-Darlington Technical College, where he earned an Associate Degree in Engineering. Robbie worked as an independent contractor with Spectrum, where he was known for his problem-solving abilities and hard work.  He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and cherished spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Ella Williams Gowdy; sons, Trey Gaskins and Robert Zion Gowdy; mother, Sylvia Keefe Gowdy; twin sister, E. Ann Gowdy; brother, David L. (Amy) Gowdy; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Robbie was preceded in death by his godmother, Dot Sullivan, and his father-in-law, Kelly Williams.
