Roger Dale Floyd

Roger Dale Floyd, 56, husband of Doris Beard Floyd, died Friday, November 6, 2020, at his residence.

Roger was born on May 14, 1964 in Florence County, to the late Alvin Floyd and Buene Clemons Floyd. He never looked for praises, he was never one to boast, he just went on quietly working for the ones he loved the most. His dreams were seldom spoken. His wants were very few and most of the time his worries went unspoken too. He was there a firm foundation through all our storms of life. A sturdy hand to hold on to in times of stress and strife. A true friend we could turn to when times were good or bad. One of our greatest blessings the man that we call Dad.  

Surviving are his wife Doris Floyd of Scranton; children, Melissa (Gary Lewis) Floyd of Scranton and Roger Will (Taylor) Floyd of Coward; grandchildren, Hayden Lewis and Amber Lewis; siblings, Terry Floyd of Scranton, Kelly (Sandra) Floyd of Lynchburg, Mary Sue Williams of Latta, Faye Floyd of Lake City; sister-in-law, Judy Floyd of Olanta.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ernest Floyd, sister, Ann McClam and sister, Linda Welch.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Piney Grove Cemetery in the Barrineau Community.

The family will receive friends 12:00 – 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Carolina Funeral Home.

Due to COVID-19, the family request for everyone to wear a mask and please maintain the 6 foot social distancing.  The family also request everyone to please refrain from hand shaking and hugging one another.
