Ronald D. "Buddy" Smith

Mr. Ronald D. “Buddy” Smith, 87, husband of Barbara A. Smith, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 20, 2025, at his home.

Mr. Smith was born on July 25, 1937, in Bennettsville, son of the late Annie Margaret Smith. He was a Veteran in the U.S. Air Force and was a retired owner of Scranton Metal Decking. Mr. Buddy was a member of Gilead Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife Barbara Smith; daughter, Rhonda S. Gause; son, Dale (Dianne) Smith; daughter, Joan Smith; grandchildren, Nancy G. (John) Truluck, Becky Gause, Roger D. Smith, Robert Page “Little Robert”; great grandchildren, Emily Truluck, Grace Truluck, Caitlin (Ryan) Smith and Carlie Anne Smith.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his son, Robert Page; grandsons, Zachary “Zack” Nelson Gause, Scott Dale Smith and David Linnis Smith; son-in-law, Nelson Bruce Gause; a number of siblings.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Wednesday, July 23, 2025,  at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
