Ronald "Ron" Pleas McGee

Mr. Ronald Pleas “Ron” McGee, 53, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at McLeod Hospice House, after a brief illness.

Ron was born on July 29, 1971, in Florence County, son of Mary Earp McGee Rhodarmer and the late Ronald H. McGee. Known for his quirky personality and boundless love for his family—especially his girls—Mr. McGee brought joy and laughter to every life he touched. A true enthusiast of outer space and all things Star Trek, he often found wonder in the stars and shared that fascination with those around him. He was also a big fan of Marvel comics and never missed an opportunity to crack a joke, earning a reputation as the family jokester.

Ron never missed a family gathering, no matter how big or small. His presence was a constant, and his deep knowledge, sense of humor, and genuine interest in others made him unforgettable. Whether he was fishing, indulging in his favorite Reese’s cups and crab legs, or simply enjoying a good meal, he savored the simple pleasures in life. He will be remembered most for his loyalty, his love of learning, and the laughter he brought to every room. He was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed.

Surviving are his children, Chase McGee of Pembroke, NC, Carsyn McGee of Timmonsville and Justin (Brooke) McGee of Knoxville, TN; grandson, Dylan McGee; mother, Mary McGee (Seby) Rhodarmer; brother, Chad (Leigh) McGee of Latta; step-son, Trent (Brianna) Blackmon of Darlington; step-grandson, T.J. Blacksmon; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by a step-brother, Tai Rhodarmer.

A Celebration of Life will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
