Mrs. Rosalene Beard Floyd, 80, of Cades, wife of the late Wilbert Floyd, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024, at her home in Cades, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Floyd was born on January 2, 1944, in Clarendon County, daughter of the late Henry Timmons Beard and Evelyn Ross Beard. She retired from Talon of Lake City after 33 years of service. Mrs. Floyd was a member of Cades Pentecostal Holiness Church but attended Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church the past four years. She was an avid Nascar fan and she loved the Atlanta Braves. Mrs. Floyd was an excellent cook and it brought her joy to cook for her loved ones. She was dedicated to her family and friends. She will be very missed by those who loved her the most.
Those left behind to cherish her memory, her children, Patty (Bobby) Fulghum of the home, Dot Floyd of Scranton, Rick (Debbie) Beard and Bobby Beard, both of Turbeville; grandchildren, Taylor Fulghum, Hunter Fulghum (Emily Watford), Witt Fulghum, Melissa Floyd, Justin Beard, Adam Beard, Roger “Will” (Taylor) Floyd and Ron Michaels; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Vida Mae Floyd of York, Diane (Ralph) Christmas and Homer (Willa Rhea) Beard both of Turbeville. Her best friend, Eva Flowers of Cades and a host of close friends and family.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by siblings, Mary Alice Anderson, Myrtle Lee Jordan, Raymond Beard and Richard Hoyt “Bossie” Beard.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church and other times at the home in Cades.
Funeral services will be 4:00 PM, Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow at Cades Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, Green Road, Cades, SC.
The family of Mrs. Floyd would like to extend special thanks to Erica Wilkes , Tabitha Conyers and Gentiva Hospice for the care, compassion, and love they showed to Mama and to us in the final days of her life. Through caring for Mama, they became like family to us. We appreciate everything they did for all of us.
