Rutger Kip Powell

Rutger Kip Powell, 31, died Saturday, July 2, 2022, at his home.

Rutger was born on January 8, 1991, in Florence County, son of Darlene Jones Powell and the late Kip Joseph Powell. He attended New Prospect Christian School and moved to Hannah-Pamplico High School, where he graduated.

Surviving are his mother, Darlene Jones Powell; brother, Devin Powell; maternal grandmother, Doris Ard Jones; paternal grandmother, Ann Powell; uncles, Deleon (Lynne) Jones, Carroll “Gator” (Lynn) Powell and Paul (Miranda) Miles; niece, Madison Powell, and a number of cousins.

Rutger was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Reverend WD Jones and paternal grandfather, Carthen “Cob” Powell.

Graveside services will be 3:30 PM, Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Jones Family Farm Cemetery, Johnsonville.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 3:30 PM, Sunday, July 3, 2022, at the cemetery prior to the service.
