Ruth Ann (Jones) Langley

Mrs. Ruth Ann Jones Langley, 74, of Lake City, wife of the late James “Jimmy” Asbury Langley, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025, at her home.

Mrs. Langley was born on January 21, 1951, in Florence County, daughter of the late William Joe Jones and Lucille Keefe Jones. Mrs. Langley attended Terrell’s Church of God of Prophecy and was a graduate of Hannah Pamplico High School. She retired after 36 years of dedicated service as an administrative assistant with DHEC. She loved her little dog “Marty,” who was her constant companion, and she also enjoyed traveling and shopping. Above all, she was a devoted mother to her children, a cherished “Nanny” to her grandchildren, a proud “Granny” to her great-grandchildren, and a loving sister to her siblings.

Surviving are her son, Kevin (Lashonda) Poston of Hemingway; three loving step daughters, Cheryl L. (Tim) Turbeville and Jamie (Rusty) Spring, both of Lake City, and Tonya Brown of Florence; grandchildren, Kaleigh Poston, Lizzie Poston, Madison (Zackery) Feagin, Nikki Callihan, Meagan (Jen) Shaffer, JR Spring, and Matthew “Rooster” Turbeville; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Janice Elvis and Lounell Merritt; brother, Joel Keith “Shadie” (Mary) Jones; dear friend, Sara Hanna.

A special thank you is extended to the family and friends who lovingly cared for her during her time of illness.

Mrs. Langley was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Jones; son-in-law, John Brown.  

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Lake City Memorial Park. Visitation will follow the graveside service and at other times at Mrs. Langley’s home, 2181 Green Road, Lake City.
