Samuel Lawrence "Larry" Godwin

Samuel Lawrence “Larry” Godwin, 62, died Monday, November 8, 2021, at MUSC, Florence.

Larry was born on October 31, 1959, in Florence County, son of Mrs. Judith Tripp Godwin and the late Mr. Samuel Louie Godwin.  He was a graduate of Lake City High School and Francis Marion College. Larry was a member of the Lake City United Methodist Church and was a self-employed tile contractor. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking. He was a member of the Lake City Masonic Lodge #193.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Lake City, are his children, Samuel Lawrence “Lee” Godwin, II and Courtney Dianne Godwin, both of Lake City; brother, David W. (Mary) Godwin of Pawley’s Island; sister, Pam G. (Al) Williamson of Cades.

Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
