Mrs. Shelby Jean Floyd Springs, 85, of Lake City, wife of Linwood C. Springs, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024, at Lake City Scranton Healthcare.
Mrs. Springs was born on June 22, 1938, in Florence County, daughter of the late James Ed Floyd and Mattie Yarborough Coker. She retired from Wentworth Manufacturing and then joined with her sisters to open “Classic Fashions” in Olanta. Mrs. Springs was a member of Cornerstone Ministries, traveled and sang with the John L Floyd Family for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved spending time with her family and was always up for a go.
Surviving are her husband of 70 years, Linwood C. Springs of Lake City; son, Christopher Charles “Chris” (Alene) Springs of Lake City; daughter, Debra Jean Springs (Kevin) Clark of Meridian, MS; granddaughter, Michelle Springs (Adam) Welch of Lake City; grandson, Alexander “Alex” Charles (Chrissy) Springs of Lake City; great grandchildren, Xander Springs, Annabelle Welch, Lane Springs and Lilly Welch; brothers, John L. Floyd, “J.E” Floyd, Douglas Floyd and Tommy (Janice) Floyd, all of Lake City; sister, Linda (Andy) Hayes of Lake City; sisters-in-law, Harriette Floyd and Gail Floyd; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Floyd and Ronnie Green.
Mrs. Springs was preceded in death by a step mother, Lucille Floyd; step-father, Carlisle Coker; sisters, Shirley Floyd, Faye Newman, Jatannah Gause, Mary Ruth Green and Mary Vin Floyd Wilkes; brothers, Marvin “M.A.” Floyd and Stanley Floyd; sisters-in-law, Libby Floyd and Geneva Floyd; brothers-in-law, Ray Newman, Ronnie Gause and Dick Floyd.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Lake City Scranton, Healthcare.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Cornerstone Ministries, Lake City.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Cornerstone Ministries, with burial to follow at Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
