Shell Cannon Carmon, Jr., 85, died Saturday, August 8, 2020, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence.
Mr. Carmon was born on February 19, 1935 in Florence County, son of the late Shell Cannon Carmon, Sr. and Bela Lee Carmon. He was a member of Sandhill Free Will Baptist Church, loved going to church and meeting people. Mr. Carmon accomplished his bucket list, which included going to the state fair, going to the mountains, to see the Atlanta Braves play and going to a race. He was extraordinary with numbers and enjoyed playing bingo with his family and friends.
Surviving are his sister, Shirley Carmon Parrott; nieces, Connie Branham, Shelby (Larry) Anderson, Linda (Mitchell) Miles, Judy Mishowe, Wanda Grooms, Beverly Player, Dr. Karen McCutcheon, Elaine (Mike) Evans and Brenda (Tommy) Newsome; nephews, Larry Stewart and Mitchell (Nancy) Crawford; and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Carmon was preceded in death by his siblings, Lovie Lee, Margaret Elmore, Addie Crawford, Iva Lee Stewart, Lissie Rapp, Doris Crawford, Baby Cathrene Carmon and Barnwell Carmon.
Funeral services will be 4:00 PM, Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Tabernacle Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Coward.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM, Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at the funeral home prior to the services.
