Sherril (Harrelson) Powers

Geneva Sherril Harrelson Powers, 78, wife of the late Jessie Ronald Powers, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023, at her residence in Hemingway.

Mrs. Powers was born on January 9, 1945, in Georgetown County, daughter of the late Frank Harrelson and Bertha Jacobs Lambert and was raised by the late Mary Bell. She was a member of Outland Church of God and retired from Tupperware.

Surviving is her son, Greg Powers of Hemingway; daughter-in-law, Lorie Powers of Ports Hill; sisters, Eloise Harrelson of Hemingway, Carol (Johnny) Smith, Pam (Mark) Hazelton, Faye (JR) Heath, all of Charleston; sisters-in-law, Mary Powers Thompson and Dixie Powers, both of Hemingway; brother-in-law, Gerald (Elaine) Powers of Andrews; a number of nieces & nephews and great nieces & great nephews.

Mrs. Powers was preceded in death by a son, Gary Powers; sister, Frances Jacobs; brothers-in-law, John Henry Powers and James B. “Jimmy” Thompson, Jr.

The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Amedysis Hospice; caregivers, Barbara Pope and Gardenia Trappier, for their care and love to our family members during this time.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Outland Church of God, Hemingway, with burial to follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Outland Church of God, Hemingway.
