Sherwood Hal Allen

Sherwood Hal Allen, 85, of Scranton, husband of Betty J. Allen, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023, at MUSC  

Mr. Allen was born on October 27, 1938, in Kingstree, son of the late Thomas Woodrow Allen, Sr and Linnie Belle McKnight Allen. He retired after 20 years of service from the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam. Mr. Allen was a member of Restoration Ministries in Manning and after his military career he was an electrician and plumber.

Surviving are his wife, Betty J. Allen of Scranton; son, Tommy (Tina) Allen of Gresham; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sisters, Gail Royce and Shannon Allen; brother, Thomas Woodrow Allen, Jr.

Mr. Allen was preceded in death by daughters, Donna Robinson and Sheryl Broxton; sons, Terry Allen and Woody Allen and step-daughter, Betty Sue Brown.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Friday, November 10, 2023, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
