Obituary
Sonia Gaskins Collins, 80, wife of the late Van B. Collins, passed away Monday, December 29, 2025, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence.
Mrs. Collins was born on June 21, 1945, in Pamplico, daughter of the late Garth Deland Gaskins and Louise Poston Gaskins. She was a graduate of JC Lynch High School and a longtime member of Matthews Tabernacle Church. Mrs. Collins retired from Nan Ya Plastics. In her earlier years, Sonia enjoyed playing softball. She was an avid Clemson Tiger fan and animal lover, who especially loved her fur babies.
Surviving are her sister, Brenda G. McDonald; nephews, Thomas N. McDonald and Gordon McCutcheon; friend, Terry McKnight and a host of cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the services.
